The secret of Quibblet evolution revealed!
Skylar sighed, leaning back against the rail of their boat. Hop was frolicking with a group of other Quibblets in the waters all around, but the researcher still felt no closer to unlocking the secret behind evolving the Minimals into their prismatic final form.
Adventurers from all over Santae had shown Skylar their own Quibblets, and shared all kinds of items gathered from places as hazardous as the Flamefall Cascades and as distant as the towering Celestial Peaks. With the generous donations, Skylar had been able to confirm the Quibblets’ voracious appetites. But something was still missing. Hop chose that moment to distract Skylar from their contemplation by leaping up out of the water to land in the bottom of the boat with a splat.
“Woah!” Skylar laughed. “Someone’s excited. What’s going on, Hop?”
But Hop didn’t pause or listen. It made a beeline for Skylar’s pack, wiggling quickly across the boat. Diving eagerly inside, Hop plucked a huge berry from the pack. The Quibblet stuffed the berry quickly into its mouth, then squirmed right back over the rail and into the water.
“Hop, wait!” Skylar called after it. What had gotten into their little companion?
Night was falling. Skylar could barely see the ripples in the water as Hop swam toward the stream leading to the Quibbit Cove. But then, slowly, Hop’s outline started to look clearer and clearer.
Skylar looked on in astonishment. Hop was glowing!
They leaped out of the boat and ran to follow Hop into the Cove.
Inside Quibbit Cove, Hop nestled itself in the most comfortable part of the pool. Its strange glow reflected across the shimmering water, the walls, and the eyes of the Quibbits and Quibblets watching from their perches in the nooks and crannies of the cave.
Skylar took in the scene in front of them with wonder. “Hop!” they exclaimed. “Are you trying to evolve?”
As if in reply, Hop threw back its head to finish swallowing the berry it had snatched before. Then it flapped its fins at Skylar, letting out an imploring squeak.
“Still hungry…” Skylar muttered. They pulled yet another berry from their bag and tossed it towards the center of the pool. Hop bounced up to eat it right out of the air. The strange glow under Hop’s skin grew brighter – then even brighter! Something was happening!
“That’s the secret!” Skylar cried, watching with a huge grin. “You needed a lot of food to help you grow up. But it wouldn’t work until you came here to Quibbit Cove!”
The glow grew into a blinding flash – and when the light faded, Skylar could see that Hop had transformed!
Hop let out a delighted croak and fluttered its new wings experimentally. It lifted up into the air, only a little wobbly, and began to fly back to Skylar.
“Hop, you’re amazing!” Skylar threw their arms open to catch Hop in a hug as the newly-evolved Quibbit flew towards them. They spun around, laughing and giving their friend a big squeeze.
“We need to share this knowledge with all of the adventurers who helped us,” Skylar said. “Thanks to them, the ancient mystery of the Quibbit has been solved!”
Evolve Quibblet into Quibbit at Quibbit Cove
With the community’s help, Skylar and Hop have discovered how to evolve Quibblet Minimals into the prismatic pet species, Quibbit!
Adventurers now have the ability to place a Quibblet into Quibbit Cove. Feed the Quibblet lots of berries to give it the energy to transform - it seems higher rarity berries give a greater boost to the evolution process!
Now that the first rush of Quibbspawn is finished hatching, they appear to have returned back to the Uncommon rarity and are no longer Widespread. Silvershade has also announced that they have been seeing less and less Quibblets in the wild, so be sure to tame one for yourself before they disappear from Herding!
Silvershade and Skylar are confident that Quibbspawn will continue to be available from assorted fishing spots going forward though, so adventurers will always be able to continue hatching their own Quibblets provided they acquire enough eggs.
The Quibbspawn, Quibblets and Quibbits you collect are covered by the Alpha Rollover Policy, and will be returned to you once we perform our post-alpha wipe. (Quibbits will be returned in the form of a Divine Natural Quibbit Figurine)
Furthermore, all participants that contributed to the event at any stage, will receive the Quibbit Event Trophy in the next few days!
Travel to Quibbit Cove to get started!
Quibbit Cove has been released and is the first pet-create feature that does not conform to the "unique pet names" algorithm. You can name your Quibbit any pet name - even one that already exists. We'll be progressively rolling that out to other pet-create locations soon too. Note: "First Edition" functionality will not be applied until the Rollover occurs.

Vespera discovers a New Pet Color: Synthwave
After her adventures at Flamefall Cascades, Vespera spent a few days stocking up her ship with supplies for the voyage back home to Shadow Veil Pass. She decided to leave Skylar to finish their research on the mysterious relationship between the Quibblet and Quibbit, as the community was doing amazing work at unveiling the mysteries of the evolutionary ways of the Quibblet.. and Vespera had existing responsibilities to attend to.
She already knew exactly what she wanted to do once she returned to her Shop, and was excited for the changes she was going to make. As she was making the final preparations, a face she hadn't seen since she arrived at Flamefall appeared;
"Vespera, it brings me great pride to see you preparing for your travels. It gives me nostalgia to see your passion for our world - just like when you were a child." Master Yushe said.
"You know me - I love the thrill of new discoveries!" Vespera chuckled back, as she tied up another barrel of fresh water on the ship deck.
"That's.. what I wanted to talk to you about before you leave.. I.. may have found something you might be interested in..", Master Yushe replied. Vespera dropped the rope to her feet - Yushe now had her full attention.
River flew down from the mast and perched next to Vespera - she too enjoyed discoveries and was eager to know what Master Yushe might be proposing next.
Master Yushe stepped aside and revealed a mysterious creature stood behind him.
"Wha.. what is that? Is it mech?" Vespera stuttered as she stepped closer - "Wait! The shape -", She stroked the pet's bulbous face "This is a Blepp!?". Vespera could hardly get her words out. "Wh-what.. happened to it?"
Master Yushe went on to explain that he was out training in the wilderness and discovered a large cache of Divine Pet Figurines. Most were normal figurines that could be obtained through already known methods, such as obtaining from Maseric's Figurine store, but there was one type of figurine in the mix that he had never seen before..
As Vespera was examining the Blepp, Master Yushe thrust a large tied up sack into Vespera's hands. "I've already packed it for your travels... but in this sack are Divine Synthwave Blepp Figurines, I have no use for them here and wondered if they might help you to learn more about this technologically magnificent color" he said.
"OH MY, YES!!". Vespera's sudden outburst startled River, and she flew back up to her perch to oversee the conversation.
Vespera tied the sack down to her ship and made a solumn vow to explore this color further in the future. She was sure that the community would rally around her to help her with this discovery.
"I'll take these with me and distribute them to adventurers when I return to Shadow Veil Pass! Together we can figure out if any other pets might be available in this color too! OH! Maybe there already exists a Shimmer Dust? What other species will appear in this color?", at this point Vespera was giddy with excitement and feeling out of breath at all the questions she was asking.
Master Yushe waited a few seconds for Vespera to calm down, before responding - "Synthwave pets are very rare, and do not appear often! We suspect their origins come from somewhere in Aleriea. If i find any more - I'll be sure to write to you!"
After they said their goodbyes, Vespera set sail and headed towards the sunset. The feeling of adventure was in the air.

Quibblets Appear Across Santae!
"Almost home, little buddy" said Silvershade to Quin, the Minimal nested around their neck. It was a long journey back to the Minimal Ranch, but the young Quibblet in Silvershade's arms was tolerating it patiently - mostly!
Every once in a while, Quin would start to wiggle in excitement, peering with its large pale eyes over the edge of Silvershade's grip.
"Easy there!" Silvershade soothed Quin, struggling to get a grip on the slippery amphibian. "What's got you so worked up?"
The next time Quin started to chirp and wiggle, Silvershade tried to follow the Minimal's gaze. At first, nothing. But then: Something shiny and blue flashed in a puddle near the side of the path!
"Is that..." Silvershade couldn't believe what they were seeing. "That's another Quibblet!" They crowed in delight, adjusting their grip on Quin to look it in the eye. "Maybe a friend of yours?" Silvershade laughed.
Quin waggled its fins gleefully in reply. Silvershade kept their eyes peeled as they began to walk again. Sure enough, as the duo traveled to the last leg towards the Minimal Ranch, Silvershade noticed a few more wild Quibblets out and about. "I guess more of those Quibbspawn have been hatching!"
"Phew!" Silvershade sighed in relief as they latched the gate to the Minimal Ranch behind them. "Finally back. Let's get you settled in," they said, stopping to place Quin on the ground.
A crowd of curious Minimals had already noticed the newcomer. "Now, y'all better make Quin here feel welcome," Silvershade warned the gathering Minimals with mock sternness and a smile.
In a swirl of gleaming bright and shadowy wings, a pair of dragon-like Minimals descended to say hello. Quin touched noses shyly with Grimmoire and Luminaria in turn.
Then a splashing sound got the Quibblet's attention. An inquisitive Oase was poking its head out of a nearby pond. It waved a webbed paw, inviting Quin closer to the water.
Quin wiggled over to the pond's edge and plopped in with a happy chirp. Aquatic minimals swam in a swirl around their new friend to welcome it home, and Quin gleefully joined in the graceful underwater dance.
Visit Herding in Lani Archipelagos
Now that Silvershade and Quin are back home at the Minimal Ranch, they've extended an invitation for Adventurers to come visit.
With Quibblets appearing in the wild across Santae, Silvershade needs your help to explore, and discover where they live... and maybe even see if they can be tamed.
Silvershade has been spotting Quibblets all over, and if you stop by they'll tell you where to look for one. The timid little tadpoles keep running away before anyone can get a proper look at them - but if we work together, maybe we can learn enough about them to learn the secret of befriending them.
Visit Minimal Herding in the Lani Archipelagos to get started!
More Fish are Returning
